Bulk carrier collided with fishing boat, India. False claim.

Bulk carrier NAVIOS VENUS reportedly collided with fishing boat off Tamil Nadu State coast, southern India, in the evening Oct 22. Of 17 fishermen on board, 2 were thrown into water by the jolt, they’ve been rescued – not clear by whom. Boat though damaged, returned to its’ home port Colachel, understood under own power. NAVIOS VENUS resumed voyage, she’s en route from Singapore to Mumbai. 

 An NGO South Asian Fishermen Fraternity general secretary Father Churchill demanded the ship and ship’s Master to be arrested, and compensation to be paid to fishermen.

He claimed that bulk carrier didn’t stop after collision, and sailed away. According to ship’s track, his claim is false, the ship did stop and turned back.
