Bulk carrier DIAMOND SKY, anchored at Vandelaar Anchorage , North sea, west of Zeebrugge, dragged anchor in Eunice storm in the afternoon Feb 18, and drifted through windfarm mine fields, situated west of Vlissingen, Netherlands – Belgium offshore.
By some miracle, the ship didn’t collided with windmills, and later returned to anchorage, understood under own power.
Product tanker MAERSK NIMBUS arrived at Vandelaar
Anchorage in the
morning Feb 18, waiting to be allowed to dock at port of destination Antwerp. She drifted also in the
afternoon Feb 18 into windfarm, and managed to anchor about a cable off a bloody C-power
windmill. As of 0812 UTC Feb 19, she was still at anchor, stuck between windmills, offshore tug ALP FORWARD (IMO 9367516) trying to take tanker out
of this windmills maze.
