Hong Kong reimposes crew change rules
Due to the ongoing COVID-19 situation, Hong Kong imposed tighter controls regarding crew changes that are taking place in the port.
From July 10, all signing-on sea crew members arriving at the Hong Kong International Airport (HKIA) must have a negative result of SARS-CoV-2 nucleic acid test at their last place of embarkation within 48 hours prior to their time of departure from the place of embarkation.
In addition, the shipping company or agent shall declare this on the guarantee letter to be submitted to the immigration authorities.
Crew members are also required to present the test report and the guarantee letter to the health authorities when they enters Hong Kong.
Hong Kong has agreed that e-certificates would be acceptable.
